Country Leadership Appointment
An established industry business entering a new country needed a proven leader, but had no existing talent network in the market. EB Talent built the market from the ground up and completed the appointment in under seven weeks.
The appointment
Leadership for a new-country launch.
The client required a senior leader with the industry credibility, commercial judgement and local-market understanding to establish its presence in a new territory. The brief demanded more than an impressive CV: the successful candidate needed the relationships and operating maturity to translate an international proposition into local growth.
The challenge
No inherited network and no reliable applicant pool.
The business had not previously recruited at this level in the country. EB Talent therefore needed to map the relevant leadership population, engage people who were not actively looking and test the brief against real-time market expectations.
The process
Research, assessment and weekly market feedback.
The search identified 96 relevant professionals and led to 52 candidate interviews. Nine assessed candidates were presented and five progressed to client interview. Weekly calls kept the brief, salary positioning and competitor insight aligned as the search developed.
One candidate was deliberately withdrawn when the evidence showed the fit was not right. Protecting the quality of the appointment mattered more than preserving a number on a shortlist.
The result
One accepted offer in under seven weeks.
The retained search produced an accepted offer in less than seven weeks. The client gained both a country leader and a clearer understanding of the talent, expectations and competitive landscape in its new market.
